Blanding Ride Update

Good morning. Hope you are all keyed up for Blanding. We just got back from a pre-ride and we are looking forward to it. Better bring some rain gear though!

Thursday we will ride Arch Canyon and Hotel Rock. I am attaching the assignments. Hotel Rock filled up fast, so some have been assigned to Arch Canyon. If you are not up to a challenging ride, you may back out of Hotel Rock. Just let us know so we can add a replacement.

Friday we will start with a visit to Bluff Fort. Then we will split into our separate rides. River House Ruins and Valley of the Gods. We are thinking that we might try to do both rides. Finish the one and then load up and move to the other staging area, time permitting. Feel free to extend or head home after the assigned ride. There is a $5.00 charge for Goosenecks unless you have a Utah State Parks pass. Worth it though!

One of the reasons we are thinking of expanding the day is that Bluff Fort has a concert Friday evening. The Grayson Girls are performing. Local talent, but pretty good show. Free ice cream afterwards. The Fort has nice bathrooms where you can wash your face and put on a clean shirt. There are several places to eat dinner in Bluff. If you choose to go home and have a real shower, good on you! Just think about coming back down for the show!

Saturday we will ride Hook and Ladder together. It is one of my favoroite rides. Checks all the boxes. A few challenging, but not dangerous spots. Lots of slick rock, sandy whoop-de-do trails, some rocky spots, good views and play areas. Not too long and will get us home in decent time.

See you all Thursday morning at 8:00 am in the Arch Canyon Inn parking lot.
